Still, I must admit that my national loyalties are ALWAYS divided during the Olympics. I mean I’m in Korea so I have to cheer for them right? But I live in China now? Have you ever seen “Cool Runnings”? Jamaica all the way, man! Meanwhile, the U.S.A. is big and gold on my passport… I’ll always cheer for Senegal, but for some reason they never make it to the Winter Olympics (*laughs hysterically to herself*). I guess I’ll just sit over here in the corner waiting to see my favorite Olympic athlete Apolo Ohno announcing for speed skating whilst cheering for them all.
NAMSAN TOWER (North Seoul Tower)
GYEONGBOKGUNG PALACE
One of the most unique facts about this palace is that it stands practically in the heart of modern day Seoul. Its front gates rise in striking contrast to the modern 21st century world right outside it’s ancient walls. Containing over six layers of gates, six outer courts, three inner courts, two sets of royal quarters, garden pavilions and beautiful ancient bridges, this scenic location becomes an immersive experience that paints a vivid and overwhelming picture of both the triumphs and tragedies of the Korean people.
