The 11 Questions:
If you were stranded on an island, what one thing would you want to take with you (no people)?
A Swiss army knife. I've watched enough McGuyver to know you can do anything (up an including build a plane to escape the island) with the proper Swiss army knife. Haha.
What's your biggest accomplishment to date?
I think a moment I'm really thankful for, where I really feel like I accomplished something was in high school when I ran for Fair Queen. My goals for the evening were to give my testimony during my opening speech and then make the top 5 finalists. By the grace of God I did both. I was able to give my testimony in front of over 300+ people at the fair and after two rounds of questioning made the top 5. I made my dad cry with pride. That's a good feeling.
What place do you most want to visit?
This is a horrible question to ask a third culture kid who dreams of travelling the world. I want to go EVERYWHERE. If I had to pick only one place though... it would be the United Kingdom (see what I did there? Multiple countries in one). I'm in love with the history, the literature, the tea, the castles, the theatre, the sophisticated culture, and let's not forget the accents (*fangirl squeal*)! It's all just a short plane ride across the ocean awaiting me!
How do you find material for your blog?
In all honesty, mainly my life. Sometimes a post is inspired by a conversation or encounter I have. Books and film play a big role in giving me inspiration. Also, I try and include a Bible verse with almost every blog. The Scriptures always are the foundation of whatever I write about.
What made you want to start your blog?
I've always loved writing. I'm opinionated. I'm an English Major. I wish to use the gifts God has talented me with to inspire and impact others. A blog seemed like a great way to start. :)
Have you always been a writer?
Always? No. For a long time? Yes. Someday I would like to be a published author. I view my blog as a way to leave a little bit of a legacy. Writing is such an impactful tool. It is timeless. God gave me words, my desire is to use them for his glory.
What's your favorite outdoor activity?
Really anything to do with the outdoors I love! Hiking, running, reading, swimming... ALL OF IT! However, if I had to pick only one thing. The obvious answer is horseback riding.
If you could convince everyone of one particular thing, what would it be?
Once again, I'm extremely opinionated so there are probably more things than there should be that I wish I could convince people.
1. I feel like the obvious answer is that Jesus Christ is the Messiah.
AFTER THAT...
2. The danger of American entitlement
3. The importance of wildlife conservation
4. At lastly, that BBC's "Merlin" is the best. show. ever.
What is your favorite time of day and why?
When I get enough sleep I am totally a morning person!
Are you a chocolate or vanilla type of person?
CHOCOLATE ALL THE WAY.
If you had to become an animal, which one would you choose and why?
Lion. There is nothing more majestic or beautiful than an African lion. King of the jungle. Master of the pride lands. Family units. No doubt about it, a lion. Plus, who doesn't want to live out "The Lion King"? ;)
